Surprise Horse drawn by Dimitri Rybaltchenko: A game of hide and seek in the carousel
Here is a Carré Hermès which perfectly illustrates the humor of Dimitri Rybaltchenko . Masked by skillfully placed tasks in order to force our imagination, the artist has summoned some emblematic symbols of the Hermès house.
The horse of course and its rider but also the '' Petit-Duc '' carriage which is the brand's logo and inspired by the drawing of Alfred de Dreux , an animal painter specializing in horses and particularly appreciated by Napoleon III.
The other subjects represented on this square seem to come straight out of paintings by other famous equestrian painters of the 19th century such as Carle Vernet or Jonny Audy, from whom a tribute to his '' Rider on his dappled gray horse and his dog '' seems to appear in the lower right corner.
Originally a monochrome square, it was reissued in 2014 under the name Cheval Surprise Remix in a multicolor version. A different color for each hidden subject.
