VENDU

Against a backdrop of hunting scenes reminiscent of paintings by Jean-Baptiste Oudry , Philippe Ledoux depicts four examples of hunting daggers in the foreground. Dating from the second half of the 18th century, this dagger is also known as a hunting knife. Its length, almost that of a sword, suggests it was used for hunting large game such as deer.
